This year's annual May Day march focused on the deepening homelessness crisis.

Activists marched down Dublin's main thoroughfare to chants of "We are young, we will fight, housing is a human right".

Woman dies following house fire in Limerick

A woman has died following a house fire in Annacotty in Limerick.

Gardaí and fire services attended the scene of a house fire at The Oaks, Riverbank at 3.00am Monday morning.

The fire was brought under control and the body of the woman, aged in her late 20s, was discovered in the house.

Theresa May has dismissed a report describing a disastrous Brexit meeting with European Commission President Jean-Claude Juncker as 'Brussels gossip'.

The British government is reported to have disputed the account, which appeared in the Frankfurter Allgemeine Sonntagszeitung newspaper.

Mr Juncker reportedly told Mrs May he was leaving Downing Street "ten times more sceptical than I was before".

27 passengers injured after Aeroflot flight hits 'unexpected turbulence'

27 passengers were injured after a flight hit 'unexpected turbulence', Russian airline Aeroflot has said.

The incident happened on board a Boeing 777 that was flying from Moscow to Bangkok.

According to Aeroflot, the plane hit a zone of 'sudden strong short-term turbulence' around 40 minutes before it was due to land in Bangkok.
