A cyclist has died in hospital in Cork following a collision earlier this month.

The crash - which involved a car and a bike - happened in Skibbereen at around midday on Friday April 21st.

The cyclist - a man in his early 60s - was seriously injured.

He was removed to Cork University Hospital, where he passed away yesterday.

The driver of the car was not injured.

Gardaí in Skibbereen are investigating the collision.
