Gardaí have seized drugs worth €1.5 million and arrested a man in Dublin.

Officers from the National Drugs and Organised Crime Bureau - assisted by local Gardaí and members of the Emergency Response team - searched a premises in Artane yesterday.

They found 20 kg of cocaine and 4 kg of cannabis resin.

The cocaine has an estimated street value of €1.4 million, while the cannabis is worth an estimated €100,000.

Component parts of a firearm and quantity of ammunition were also seized during the operation.

One man - aged in his 40s - was arrested at the scene. 

He is being detained at Coolock Garda Station.
