Nine people have reportedly been killed at a power plant in China after an operation platform collapsed.

Two others have been injured at a site, which is still being built in the southern province of Guangdong.

The Chinese government's begun an investigation.

The plant is still under construction at the moment. Accidents are relatively common at industrial plants in China.

Anger over lax standards is growing after three decades of swift economic growth marred by incidents from mining disasters to factory fires.

Authorities have vowed to improve safety at power plants.
