In the east and south today will start out rather cloudy and damp with further outbreaks of rain at first.
Elsewhere it will be drier during the morning.
Brighter weather will develop by mid-afternoon for all areas, and any lingering showers will become well scattered.
Afternoon temperatures will reach 9 or 10 degrees with moderate to fresh north to northeasterly winds gradually easing.
Tonight will be dry and clear with a slight to sharp frost.
Lowest temperatures of between zero and -2 degrees, coldest in the north.
Winds will be mainly light from a northerly direction.
There is a status yellow rainfall warning for Dublin, Louth and Wicklow.
Heavy rain at times today and tonight will lead to potential accumulations of 30 to 50mm, largest on mountains.
