Three men charged in relation with Longford stabbing

A man in his 30s remains in hopsital after the assault

UPDATED: Three men appeared at a special sitting of Longford District Court today in connection with a stabbing incident which occurred on St. Patrick's Day.

An 18 year old man and two juveniles have been charged after a man in his 30s was assaulted on New Street in Longford town shortly after 8.30pm on Friday.

18 year old Ciaran Mc Donnell, of 34 College Park, Longford town, was charged with assault and remanded in custody to appear before Harristown District Court, in Castlerea next Friday.

He sought bail, but judge Kevin Kilrane refused.

The two youths, who can't be named for legal reasons, were charged and released on bail to appear before Longford District Court on Tuesday.

An 18 year old man and two juveniles have been charged after a man in his 30s was assaulted on New Street in Longford town shortly after 8.30pm on Friday.

He remains in a serious condition and has been transferred to St. James Hospital in Dublin.
