A Date for Mad Mary, The Siege of Jadotville and The Young Offenders have all been nominated for multiple awards at this year's IFTA Awards.

The Siege of Jadotville - which was released on Netflix last year - is in the running for best film, director (Richie Smyth) and screenwriter (Kevin Brodbin), while Jamie Dornan and Jason O'Mara are in the running for acting prizes. It has also received the nod in VFX and Sound categories.

The Limerick-set The Young Offenders - written and directed by Peter Foott - is up for seven awards across the film categories.

Darren Thornton’s A Date for Mad Mary is nominated in the best feature film, director and screenwriter (alongside his brother Colin Thornton) categories. Lead actress Sean Kerslake is also up for an award, along with Charleigh Bailey for best supporting actress.

The Oscar-nominated Ruth Negga is up for awards in both the film & TV categories for her roles in Loving and Preacher.

In the TV categories, international hits such as Game of Thrones, The Fall and Vikings feature prominently, while the Irish-language An Klondike also scores multiple nominations.

IFTA CEO Aine Moriarty said: “These great Irish Nominees are a testament to the hard work and achievements by Irish creative talent within the film and television industry, delivering world-class standards of work and we look forward to showcasing and celebrating their achievements at the Awards Ceremony”.

The winners will be announced in Dublin's Mansion House on April 8th, and Michael Gambon is set to receive a Lifetime Achieve Award at the ceremony.

You can see more of the nominations below, while the full list of nominees is available on the IFTA website.
