Cloudy today with spells of heavy rain, and snow over high ground. Some thunderstorms also with hail.

Temperatures ranging 3 to 8 degrees in freshening east to northeast winds.

Tonight

Cold and cloudy tonight with further spells of heavy rain and snow.

Lowest temperatures of 0 to 4 degrees in fresh northerly winds, strong in the southwest with drifting snow over the mountains.

Rainfall Warning for Galway, Leitrim, Mayo, Sligo, Clare and Kerry (status yellow)

Some very heavy downpours at times through the rest of today, tonight and tomorrow.

Totals of 30 to 40mm and possibly larger on hills and mountains. (valid until 6pm)
