Monday's weather: Mostly cloudy with sporadic showers

Mostly cloudy today with occasional rain and drizzle, and patches of mist and fog. Rain will become persistent for a time in Ulster and Connacht later this morning, with a few heavier bursts.

Drier and brighter conditions will develop the north and northwest towards evening, as the more persistent spells of rain transfer further south. Mild and breezy with top temperatures 10 to 14 degrees, in mostly moderate to fresh westerly winds.

Tonight will be mainly dry across Ulster, north Connacht and north Leinster with clear spells and lowest temperatures of 4 to 7 degrees. Milder and cloudier conditions with outbreaks of rain and drizzle will prevail further south, with some heavy and persistent falls about north Munster and south Leinster and minimum temperatures of 8 to 10 degrees. Winds will be light to moderate southwesterly.
