Wednesday's weather: Frosty and icy patches to clear; Highest temperatures between 6 to 8 degrees

Today

Frost, icy patches and remaining fog to clear this morning.

Some hazy sunshine in northern and eastern areas, but mostly cloudy elsewhere, with some patches of light rain and drizzle developing over west Munster and west Connacht.

Top temperatures of between 6 to 8 degrees generally, but up to 10 degrees in southwestern areas.

Moderate southeast breezes will grow fresh and will become strong on Atlantic coasts later.

Tonight

Cold, windy and most cloudy tonight, but there will be occasional clear spells in some eastern and northern parts.

Patches of light rain and drizzle at times - mainly in southern and some western areas. Most other areas will remain dry.

Lowest temperatures of zero to 2 degrees over many northern and eastern areas, with some frost under any cloud breaks.

Higher values of between 3 to 6 degrees over Munster and west Connacht.
