A man has been arrested after a fully operational cannabis grow house was found in Carlow.

Gardaí discovered the operation at a premises at Killendmond in Borris on Tuesday evening.

The highly sophisticated grow house was discovered during the course of a search.

It had cannabis plants growing at a mature stage of growth.

They have an estimated street value of €250,000.

One man in his 20s was arrested and is currently detained at Carlow garda station under Section 2 of the Criminal Justice Act.

The house is sealed off for a forensic technical examination, which is taking place.
