Gardaí say a number of the firearms in the haul found in Dublin today were loaded and ready for use.

A cache of 20 Guns, with ammunition, was seized during a search at Greenogue Industrial estate near Rathcoole.

The haul - including an assault rifle, a sub machine gun and semi automatic pistols - was picked up as part of an ongoing operation targeting organised crime groups.

Three men are being detained in west Dublin this evening - and Gardaí are investigating whether they have links to the Kinahan cartel.

Detective Superintendent Tony Howard has appealed for witnesses, who may have seen anything suspicious in the area:

“We are absolute determined to root out organised crime here in the state and we will prosecute that mission to its fullest extent,” he said.

“We do want the community to assist us in that because too many people have been gunned down ruthlessly over the last number of months.”
