Ewan McGregor has pulled out of a TV appearance in protest over Piers Morgan's comments about the weekend's protests over Donald Trump.

The Good Morning Britain host has made a number of disparaging remarks about the recent 'women's marches':

McGregor, who is currently promoting the sequel to Trainspotting, took to Twitter himself this morning saying he was pulling out of a TV appearance over Morgan's comments.

On Saturday, McGregor said: "I'm with you in spirit today women of the world. My daughters are marching. I'm so proud to see this extraordinary power."

Following this morning's decision by McGregor, Morgan hit back in a series of Twitter posts - describing the star as 'just an actor' and accusing him of acting 'like a coward'.
