George Michael post-mortem 'inconclusive'

Further tests will be carried out, with results expected in several weeks

The cause of singer George Michael's death remains inconclusive following a post mortem examination.

Thames Valley Police said an examination was carried out yesterday. Further tests will be conducted, though results are likely to take several weeks. 

Michael’s death on Christmas day is still being treated as unexplained but not suspicious. At the time, his publicist said he "passed away peacefully" at his Oxford home.

Born Georgios Kyriacos Panayiotou, the pop starenjoyed a successful career which lasted almost four decades and saw him sell more than 100 million albums. Michael's career began with Wham in the 1980s before he later launched a solo career.
