Are you dreaming of a white Christmas, or just want to look at it from beside a warm fireplace?

Either way you will have to travel a little to get a proper blanketing of snow this December 25th.

Akureyri in Iceland - 3,901.6 km from Dublin - is forecasting snow of up to 3.7cms.

But wrap up well, as temperatures will be falling back to a nice crisp -12.

If Scandinavia is more your thing, the Swedish region of Hemavan and Tarnaby is 3,394.8 km from Dublin.

It will be getting 2.5cms of snow this Christmas, along with a -6 temperature.

While Ruka in Finland, 3,815.7 km from Dublin, will be a balmy -1.

It will be seeing 1.1cms of the white stuff this Christmas Day.

In Russia, Kirovsk - 4,112.6 km from Dublin - will have a good covering of up to 10cms of snow and a low temperature of -4.

A bit further east, Igora will see 1.4cms of snow and a low of -2 forecast.

Snowmen will abound...
