Irish actress Ruth Negga is the latest star to be on the cover of Vogue magazine in the US.

Negga, whose mother is Irish and father is Ethiopian, shot to fame in her role as Rosie in the the TV series 'Love/Hate'.

She is also known for her part in Neil Jordan's 'Breakfast on Pluto' and appeared as Welsh singer Shirley Bassey in a BBC production in 2011.

In 2013, she had a recurring role on the TV series 'Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D.', appearing in 17 episodes.

She also appeared on the TV show 'Misfits', and in the 2013 film 'World War Z'.

Her latest role, a film called 'Loving', sees her play Mildred Loving.

The film is based on the true story of a married interracial couple in 1950s Virginia.

Their relationship lead to the US Supreme Court decision Loving v Virginia, which struck down laws there prohibiting interracial marriages.

The film has received rave reviews in the US, with Time magazine calling it "required viewing" for this year's Oscar season.

"People have always made assumptions about me," she told the magazine.

"I become very territorial about my identity because it's been hijacked by so many people, with their own projections".
