Friday weather: Staying cold and dry with some lingering fog

Today will be another cold and mainly dry day with the odd shower affecting the east and south in light variable or easterly breezes.

Frost and fog will clear slowly, but fog may linger, especially in the north and some parts of the midlands or east. Afternoon temperatures will reach just 2 to 7 degrees generally, but may reach 8 to 10 degrees along the east and south coasts.

Tonight will be cold and mostly dry with just a few isolated showers. Mist and fog will from again in light easterly breezes but winds will be moderate along south and parts of the east coasts keeping temperatures there around +2 to +4 degrees. But elsewhere it will cooler with temperatures falling to around -2 to +1 degrees.
