It'll be cold and dry today, with the overnight frost and fog slow to clear and may linger in some places all day, giving poor driving conditions.

Some sunny spells, but cloudy periods too. Top temperatures of 6 to 9 degrees, generally, but only 2 to 4 degrees, where fog persists and frost is slow to clear.

Cold and foggy tonight, with some dense fog once again and a hard frost under clear skies and some icy stretches. The frost will be severe across Leinster, Connacht and Ulster, with temperatures of - 2 to - 5 degrees, coldest of all over eastern areas.

Some cloudy periods too, mainly over southern areas, where frost will be more patchy, lowest temperatures here -1 to 3 degrees.
