Low temperature warning in effect for Connacht, Cavan, Monaghan and Donegal

A weather warning is in place for Connacht, Cavan, Monaghan and Donegal tonight.

According to Met Éireann, temperatures will fall to between -2 and -4 degrees in the affected areas.

The status yellow warning came into effect at 7pm, and is in place until 10am tomorrow morning.

Forecasters are warning that there will also be widespread severe frost in the north and northwest tonight.

Elsewhere, lowest temperatures will fall to around -1 to +3 degrees with some frost.
