Today

Today will be cold, breezy and showery. Many showers will be heavy and some prolonged with a chance of hail and thunder. Some showers will turn to sleet on higher ground. There will be some sunshine as well.

Top afternoon temperatures just 6 to 9 degrees, in fresh to strong and gusty westerly winds.

Tonight

Showers will continue tonight with the ongoing risk of hail and thunder and sleet on high ground. A little snow cover is possible on top of mountains.

Lowest temperatures of 0 to 3 degrees with frost away from west coasts. Westerly winds will be moderate to fresh.

Rainfall warning (status yellow) for Donegal, Mayo and Sligo

Widespread heavy showers merging into longer spells of rain at times are likely to lead to rainfall accumulations of 25-35 mm. The warning is valid until 9pm.
