Today

Today will be mostly cloudy and mild over southern and eastern parts of the country at first, with patchy rain, drizzle, mist and fog. Brighter, drier but cooler conditions in the north and west will gradually extend southeastwards over the rest of the country later today.

Afternoon highs of 10 to 14 degrees in light to moderate westerly winds backing southwesterly and strengthening in the west and northwest later.

Tonight

Tonight will be dry at first in many areas with clear spells. A band of rain will arrive in the northwest, however, possibly turning heavy for a time as it crosses Connacht and west Ulster, but becoming lighter and patchier as it sinks southeastwards overnight.

Lowest temperatures 5 to 8 degrees in mostly moderate southwesterly winds, but fresh to strong and gusty near coasts, veering westerly later.
