The incident happened at Coole West, Athea at around 9.30pm last night
A man has died following a collision in Co Limerick last night.
Two cars collided on the R524 at Coole West, Athea at around 9.30pm.
The driver of one of the cars - who was in his 50s - was pronounced dead at the scene.
The driver of the second car was not injured.
The road remains closed this morning to allow for a forensic examination.
Gardaí say an investigation is underway to establish the cause of the crash.
