The body of a teenage boy has been found inside a burnt out garden shed in Britain.

He has been named as 13-year-old Jack Sheldon, according to sources.

South Yorkshire Police said the emergency services were called to Byron Avenue in Campsall near Doncaster at around 9.00pm on Thursday after getting reports of a fire.

A body was found after the flames had been put out.

The force said in a statement: "While formal identification is yet to take place, it is believed to be that of a 13-year-old boy.

"A joint investigation between South Yorkshire Police and South Yorkshire Fire and Rescue Service is continuing this morning."

South Yorkshire Fire and Rescue said it had sent two fire engines to what it called "this tragic incident".

It later tweeted: "Investigation into cause of the tragic fire in Campsall is now underway but will not conclude until tomorrow at the earliest."
