Three men have been arrested in Meath following the discovery of a large quantity of cannabis herb.

Gardaí seized the drugs, worth an estimated €2.7 million, during an operation this afternoon.

The cannabis herb was found when detectives searched a number of vehicles in Ashbourne shortly after 3pm

The arrested men – aged 35, 41 and 58 – are currently being detained at Ashbourne and Finglas garda stations under Section 2 of Criminal Justice (Drug Trafficking) Act, 1996.

The operation was part of an ongoing investigation targeting organised criminal activity in the Dublin and Meath regions, according to gardaí.
