A murder investigation has begun into the death of a man in his 20s in Dublin yesterday.

His body was found at an apartment on the South Circular Road, with a second man found injured on the street nearby.

Gardaí do not want to release the name of the man who died until all his family have been notified.

They say they have spoken to the injured man, who is believed to be a Swiss National.

He is in hospital recovering from non life threatening injuries.

Superintendent Kevin McMeniman says they are carrying out further investigations this afternoon.

"We had two scenes preserved, and those have been examined," he explained.

"We also have appointed a family liaison officer. We have house-to-house teams doing canvas for witnesses."

Gardaí are anxious to speak to a third man who was spotted leaving the scene yesterday.

He is described as 5'6" in height, of thin build with fair hair.

He is not being treated as a suspect at the moment but officers believe he can fill in the blanks on what happened.

They're asking that man, or anyone with information, to contact them at Kevin Street Garda Station at 01 666 9400.
