Gardaí have begun a murder investigation following the discovery of a man's body in the Dublin Mountains.

The man, who was in his 60s, was found close to a forest track on Ballinascorney Hill in Brittas yesterday.

He had been reported missing from the area on Thursday.

The probe was launched after a postmortem at Tallaght Hospital, gardaí said. Officers are due to appeal for witnesses at a briefing near the scene at 3pm.
