A man injured in a road traffic collision on August 30th has died.

Gardaí have confirmed the 72-year-old passed away on Friday, September 9th.

He was the driver of one of the two cars involved in the incident, which happened on the Lifford to Letterkenny Road at approximately 3.15pm.

The man, who was the sole occupant of one car, was taken to Letterkenny University Hospital where he has passed away.

The other car was driven by a male in his early 30s who was uninjured.

While two passengers, who are both children under seven years, were also unhurt.

Gardaí are appealing for witnesses or anyone who may have been on the road between 3.00pm and 3.15pm to contact them in Letterkenny on 074-916-7100, the Garda Confidential Line at 1800-666-111 or any garda station.
