Two women arrested following discovery of 'sophisticated grow house' in Co Westmeath

A search was carried out at a rural dwelling in Moyvoughly, Moate

Gardaí have arrested two women and seized more than €150,000 worth of cannabis plants in Co Westmeath.

Officers carried out a search at a premises at Moyvoughly in Moate earlier today.

A "highly sophisticated" grow house was discovered, with cannabis plants in various stages of growth.

The plants seized are said to have an estimated street value of €150,000.

The two women who were arrested during the operation are being held at Athlone Garda Station.

Gardaí say the operation was led by the Athlone Drugs Unit and assisted by the Westmeath Divisional Units and the Drugs & Organised Crime Bureau.
