A young boy has been killed in Offaly after his bike crashed into a car.

The 11-year-old was pronounced dead at the scene this morning.

The collision happened at around 9:15am in Marshbrook, on the old Dublin to Galway road.

The boy’s body remains at the scene, which has been preserved, and diversions are in place.
