Bringing your kids to Electric Picnic? Here's all the info you'll need

Because you're never too young to love music!

For those who've never been, there can be a bit of a misconception that festivals like Electric Picnic are just for the young and rowdy, jumping in puddles of mud to their favourite EDM artists.

However once you get there, the abundance of families in attendance is hugely evident, and if this is your first time bringing the kids along to EP, but you're thinking that maybe exposing your children to the sexed up/suicidal musings of Lana Del Rey or the expletive filled bars by Nas might be a bit much, here's all the info you'll need to know.

REGISTRATION

First of all, any and all children must be registered, and you can do that via this online doc here. Every adult with a festival ticket can bring two children under the age of 12 in for free with them, and there will be ID checks on site, so if you think your child might look older than that, make sure to bring some form of identification (which can include colour photocopies).

CAMPING

There is a dedicated Family Camping site for adults arriving with children under the age of 12. Once again, there will be ID checks, and no adults arriving without children will be permitted into the Family Camping site. Only those with Family Camping tickets with able to avail of this dedicated site, and those with Family Camping tickets will also have access to the festival's dedicated Family Car Park, which is located a short distance from the campsite.

SOUL KIDS

Still proving to be a massive hit, Soul Kids will be taking place within the Walled Gardens at Stradbally Gardens, a space that is been dedicated solely to kids and families who are looking for something a little different to do at the Picnic.

This year's programme includes an archaeological dig, a workshop on how to make your own jewellery, a comedy club and a kids disco, amongst loads more fun and active events. You can peruse the full programme right here.

FOSSETTS CIRCUS

The world-famous performers are returning to EP with a brand-new production, with nine separate performances taking place inside the Big Top over the three days of festival. Each of the two-hour shows features archery, a strongman, lasers, juggling, acrobatics and more clowns than you'll know what to do with.

EVERYTHING ELSE YOU'LL NEED TO KNOW

There are baby changing facilities in both the Soul Kids area, and at the Family Camping sites.

The Family Camping site also has its own showers, toilets and water points available.

Every parent is recommended to pick up a children's wristband at the Family Campsite and Soul Kids areas, on which you can write contact details, which can be used in the event of a child going missing.

While children must be accompanied by a parent or guardian at all times, in the event of a lost or found child, you should notify the nearest steward immediately who will radio the Electric Picnic Control Centre.

THAT'S YOUR LOT...

... aside from all the amazing music you get to bring the kids along to. Enjoy the festival, folks!
