A teenage cyclist is being treated for serious injuries following a crash with a car in Co Louth.

It happened on the N51 Slane Road in Drogheda at around 8.30pm yesterday evening.

The 13-year-old boy was taken to Our Lady of Lourdes Hospital in Drogheda.

The driver of the car was not injured.

A forensic examination of the scene is due to take place today and road diversions are in place.
