Jonah Hill: "I did so much fake cocaine in Wolf of Wall Street, I got bronchitis"

The actor also discussed his favourite films

Jonah Hill was discussing the difficulty he had being taken as anything other than a comedic actor during an interview with Bill Simmons.

In the interview, he details the obstacles he had to overcome when trying to break into show business, and found comedy as the easiest route to do the type of films that he loved and that made him want to become an actor, such as Goodfellas or Boogie Nights.

"It's not like I look like Brad Pitt or something like that, or I was some unbelievable actor as a kid. Comedy has been amazing. I don't think I would have broken into entertainment or the film world without starring in movies like that," said Hill.

"One thing that's actually really interesting; if you make people laugh, it is very hard for them to see you not make them laugh."

In relation to his own performance in The Wolf of Wall Street, Hill said: "I did so much fake cocaine in Wolf of Wall Street, I got bronchitis for three weeks and had to be hospitalised."

However, fake cocaine is only vitamin powder so it's not too harmful, as Hill explains in this clip:
