Man stabbed in Belfast on Sunday morning

The incident occurred on Alfred Street in the south of the city

The PSNI are appealing for witnesses following a serious assault on Alfred Street in south Belfast during the early hours of Sunday 14th August.

It was reported that shortly before 2am a man aged in his 30’s, had been stabbed close to the junction of Sussex Place. He was taken to hospital for treatment to a deep cut to his face as a result of the incident.

The suspect, described as being approximately 5’8" tall and of stocky build, made off on foot along Alfred Street towards Ormeau Avenue.

Detective Sergeant Michael Hawthorne is appealing for anyone who was in the area of Alfred Street and who witnessed the incident or anyone with any information that can assist with the investigation to contact Detectives from Reactive & Organised Crime Branch at Musgrave Police Station on 101 quoting reference number 166 of 14/08/16.
