The lifestyle icon and the rapper will invite famous friends over for dinner on VH1
Whether or not they can become a TV duo as powerful as Ant & Dec, it has emerged that the US network VH1 has commissioned a new series that pairs domestic tycoon Martha Stewart with musician and marijuana entrepreneur Snoop Dogg. The unscripted series Martha & Snoop’s Dinner Party will see the pair host a weekly social gathering for other celebrities and is expected to debut in the Autumn.
While they might seem like an unlikely pairing, Stewart and Dogg have a history of appearing together on screen, having recently taken part on the ABC reboot of the beloved 100,000 Pyramid quiz show. In addition to their trivia teamwork, Snoop Dogg has appeared a handful of times as a guest on Stewart’s talk show, and they both appeared and sat beside each other at Comedy Central’s roast of Justin Bieber in 2015.
“At our dinner party, we will exemplify America’s fascination with food, entertaining and celebrity,” Stewart said. “Martha & Snoop’s Dinner Party will redesign the traditional food competition shows in a new, different, and very funny way.”
“My homegirl Martha and I,” Snoop Dogg added, “Have a special bond that goes back. We’re gonna be cooking, drinking and having a good time with our exclusive friends. Can’t wait for you to see how we roll together.”
“We’re thrilled to partner with Martha Stewart and Snoop Dogg, two of pop culture’s biggest icons,” VH1 and Logo president Chris McCarthy told Variety. “Good parties are filled with fun, food and unexpected guests. Wait til you see what happens at ‘Martha and Snoop’s Dinner Party’; it will be unforgettable.”
