Irish producer, presenter and actress Roma Downey is to get a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame.

Downey has produced and hosted several religious-orientated shows in the US.

She is president of LightWorkers Media, under which she is executive producer of "The Bible," "Son of God," "Little Boy," "Women of The Bible," "Little Angels," "Answered Prayers," and "The Dovekeepers."

She has also presented "It's a Miracle", currently showing on CBS Reality in Ireland and the UK.

The show featured miraculous stories from members of the public.

She is perhaps best known for her nine seasons as 'Monica' - an angel on the television series 'Touched by an Angel.'

Derry-born Downey is married to British producer Mark Burnett, who is currently president of MGM Television and Digital Group.

The couple have a daughter, Reilly - and two stepsons, James and Cameron. They also keep three Irish wolfhounds at their home.

Downey's star will be unveiled on August 11th.
