'The Simpsons' have taken a clear stand over the upcoming US election - anyone but Donald Trump.

The famous cartoon family have released a clip, showing Homer and Marge in bed talking about who they will vote for.

A voiceover then makes comparisons between the businessman and his Democratic rival Hillary Clinton.

"It's 3am and the phone's ringing in the White House - who do you want to answer that call?".

It depicts Bill Clinton answering the 'emergency' phone, before realising he is not the president anymore.

"Oh, it's for you," he says disappointingly. "Yes - from now on it's always for me", Hillary interrupts.

Then we have the Donald Trump scenario - and they don't hold back.

It shows Trump cutting off the emergency call, adding: "Not now, I'm on Twitter!".

"Elizabeth Warren tweets too damn much - glad I exiled her", he says while typing. Warren has been an outspoken critic of Trump.

Answering the call, Trump then rings a bell and his staff come rushing in.

They then apply make-up, botox, fake tan and place a small dog on his head - which he then turns into his hair.

Answering another call, Trump exclaims: "We're too late? The Chinese fleet is advancing? Just build another wall."

The voiceover then adds: "Paid for by Americans who are really starting to miss Obama."
