Emergency services attended the scene yesterday evening
Firefighters in the UK were called upon to rescue 19 people from a fairground ride in London yesterday evening.
Six children and 13 adults were stuck 20 metres in the air seated in ten hanging capsules.
Emergencies services were called to the scene at Southbank, close to the London Eye, shortly before 6.00pm.
Crews used an aerial platform, which is similar to a cherry picker, to reach the people and bring them back down to safety.
London fire brigade's Clive Robinson said: "It was slow work as we need to access each cage on the ride individually and ensure they were secure before we move them from the ride onto our platform and bring them back down to the ground.
"There were no injuries and everyone was patiently waiting for us to get around to them."
The incident was over shortly after 9.00pm.
