The bill was presented today in relation to use for medical purposes
A bill has been tabled in the Dail today to legalise cannabis for medical purposes.
The AAA/PBP Profit deputy Brid Smith says there is a demand for cannabis by people who suffer from the likes of Multiple Sclerosis and Epilepsy.
The Dublin South Central TD also said it can provide pain relief for those suffering from cancer.
These people agree that cannabis should be made legal in Ireland:
When asked about the legalisation of cannabis earlier this year, spokespeople for Fine Gael and Fianna Fail did not support the proposition, while Sinn Fein and the Anti-Austerity Alliance all announced their backing of the plan.
