Appeal for witnesses after man assaulted on Dollymount Strand in Dublin

There was a confrontation after a group of men took another man's sunglasses off his head

Gardaí in Dublin are appealing for witnesses to an assault on a man on Dollymount Strand on Tuesday night.

A group of men approached a couple as they were walking on the beach at around 8pm.

They took the man's sunglasses off his head which resulted in a confrontation.

Four other men are said to have been involved.

The injured man was taken to Beaumont Hospital but his injuries are not believed to be life threatening.

Five men were later arrested on the Clontarf Road and taken to Raheny and Clontarf Garda stations.
