Police in the UK are searching for two suspects after the alleged attempted abduction of a serviceman.

The incident happened yesterday afternoon when the serviceman - who is in his late 20s - was approached by two men near the RAF Marham airbase in Norfolk.

One of the men shouted at the victim and made an attempt to grab him, according to police.

The serviceman - who was not in uniform - managed to fight the suspect off. The suspect fell to the ground.

Although he was approached by the second man, the victim managed to run away from the scene.

The second suspect is said to have been armed with a knife.

Police in Norfolk say they are searching for two men - who appeared to be of Middle Eastern origin and aged between 20 and 30 - in connection with the incident.

Detective Superintendent Paul Durham said: "The motivation for the attack remains unclear at this time, and whilst we are currently unable to discount terrorism, there are a number of other possible hypotheses.

"We are therefore carrying out a thorough investigation to understand what has happened, why and who is responsible," he added.
