Revenue seizes €18,500 worth of 'Khat' drug at Dublin Airport

The drugs were found in a passenger's checked-in baggage

Revenue has seized almost €19,000 worth of an amphetamine-like drug at Dublin Airport.

Officers found approximately 37 kilos of Khat.

The discovery was made following routine profiling of a 23-year-old Norwegian woman who arrived into Dublin on a flight from Abu Dhabi.

The drugs, which were found in the passenger's checked-in baggage, have a street value of more than €18,500.

The woman was arrested, appeared in Dublin Circuit Court on Saturday afternoon and was remanded in custody to appear again this coming Friday.
