Ryanair and Aer Lingus have been forced to cancel a number of flights to today as a result of industrial action in France.

Yesterday Ryanair announced the cancellation of 166 flights, including 12 in and out of Dublin Airport.

The airline said 30,000 of their customers will have their flights cancelled, and over 100,000 will face delays.

Meanwhile, Aer Lingus has cancelled 12 flights, including flights to and from Spain.

Both airlines are warning of further delays to flights which use French airspace.

The travel chaos is due to industrial action by French air traffic controllers - today marks the 12th day of strike action in 13 weeks.

People are advised to check their airlines website for updates.
