Member of the public discovered unconscious man close to pub entrance
Gardaí are appealing for witnesses following an alleged assault in Dublin city centre last night.
The unconscious man was discovered by a passerby on Dame Lane at about 11.30pm.
The man, in his late 30s, was found with serious head injuries close to the entrance of a pub.
He was rushed to St James' Hospital before being transferred to Beaumont, where he remains in a serious condition.
Anyone who was in the Dame Lane area between 11pm and midnight has been asked to contact gardaí at Pearse Street station on 01 666 9000.
