The man was airlifted from the sea by a Coast Guard helicopter
A man has died after getting into difficulty while scuba diving off the South-East coast.
The incident happened shortly before 6pm when two snorkellers got into difficulty in Ardmore in Co Waterford.
Emergency services were alerted and crew from the Coast Guard Rescue helicopter airlifted the men to safety.
One of the men, a man in his late 30s, was transferred to Waterford University Hospital where he later died. The other man was uninjured.
A post mortem will be carried out on the man's body on Monday morning.
