Almost a thousand properties are without power this morning.

It is after thunder storms hit the Midlands and West of the country last night.

The power went out for almost 6,000 customers yesterday with most of the affected areas in Meath, Westmeath, Cavan, Cork, Sligo and Mayo.

Around 260 properties have no power in Kingscourt in Cavan this morning, with dozens of customers in areas such as Macroom and Carrickmacross also affected.

You can find out full details of outages on the ESB PowerCheck website.

The ESB says it has crews working to restore supply.
