Gardaí say that no evidence has been found in the search of a garden in Dublin, following allegations that two infants were buried there decades ago.

The search got underway in April, and has now concluded.

It was alleged that a woman was raped as a child and gave birth to the youngsters before they were killed.

The incidents are alleged to have happened in the 1960s and 1970s.

Officers were also understood to be looking for a number of personal items, which are said to have been buried with the infants.

Gardaí have interviewed the alleged victim on several occasions during a year-long investigation.

A file will be prepared for the DPP following the conclusion of the search.
