The presumptive Republican candidate says "thousands of people are dying waiting in line to see a doctor"
Donald Trump has used a gathering of ex US servicemen to repeat his claim that illegal immigrants are treated better than veterans.
He used his speech at the memorial event in Washington DC to drum up support for his campaign.
"In many cases illegal immigrants are taken much better care of in this country than our veterans," he said. "That's not going to happen... We're not going allow that to happen any longer".
Trump is the presumptive Republican candidate in the race to the White House - with the final decision expected next month at the party's national conference.
However, the businessman's comments at the annual Rolling Thunder event have divided opinion - with some accusing him of gate crashing.
Mr Trump claimed veterans are dying while waiting to see a doctor.
"Thousands of people are dying... hard to believe even, of our vets, our most cherished people... thousands of people are dying waiting in line to see a doctor," he told the crowd.
