Man (32) in court over €280,000 heroin seizure in Dublin

Teenage girl arrested in connected with seizure has since been released

A 32-year-old man is to appear in court this morning charged in connection with the seizure of two kilos of heroin in Dublin.

Part of the haul was discovered after gardaí stopped and searched a car off the Sandymount Road in Dundrum yesterday.

Another quantity was found during a follow-up search of a house at Ballyogan Green, Carrickmines.

The drugs have an overall street value of €280,000.

The man was kept in custody overnight under section 2 of the Criminal Justice( Drug Trafficking) Act, 1996.

A 17-year-old girl who was also in the car stopped in Dundrum was arrested but later released.

The male suspect is due to appear before Dún Laoghaire District Court at 10.30am.
