Gardaí appeal for witnesses following fatal Monaghan crash

A man in his 50s was killed when his car collided with a wooden fence

Gardaí have appealed for witnesses to a fatal road traffic collision in Co Monaghan yesterday afternoon.

A male in his 50s was fatally injured when the car he was driving left the road and collided with a wooden fence on the N2 at Drumcrew in Castleblaney at around 4pm. 

He was pronounced dead at the scene and his body was taken to Our Lady of Lourdes Hospital in Drogheda.

A female passenger in the car was uninjured.
