Man dies after three car collision in Co Kilkenny

Gardaí in Kilkenny are appealing for witnesses to a fatal traffic collision in which a man died.

The 68-year-old, who was the lone occupant of a vehicle, was fatally injured after being involved in a three car collision.

The man was treated at the scene by emergency services, but died a short time later.

His body has been removed to Waterford Regional Hospital.

Two other men were brought to St Luke's Hospital with what is believed to be non life-threatening injuries.

Gardaí in Thomastown are appealing for witnesses to the incident which occurred in Dangan at around 11.30am.

The road is closed and local diversions are in place.

Garda forensic collision investigators are at the scene and the coroner has been notified.
